Resources in Open OnDemand

Take only the RAM+Cores that you need with OnDemand sessions, but especially so when these two conditions are true:

1. during business hours
2. you have more than one session

It is critical that Large Memory sessions during business hours are used effectively.

Cancel any sessions you have that are not being used by going to "My Interactive Sessions" and deleting those jobs.

Research Computing wishes to keep high memory sessions available, however, if users are taking too much memory during business hours, we may be required to reduce the maximum available RAM to ensure that we can support increasing demand for sessions. The worst part of this is that if we need to reduce max available memory, it will also be in effect during non-business hours. During non-business hours, have at it, take all that you can use.

We want you to have large memory sessions available. Please work with us and your fellow Longleaf community members to keep Large Memory sessions available to all.
